At some point in our life, we have been exposed to traumatic events. Trauma can be devastating, but at the same time it can be used to serve as a doorway and path to personal growth and healing. BBTRS workshops and courses create opportunity for participants to uncover and let go of the effects of trauma on their body and life.

To many of us breathing has become shallow and restricted because of the exposure to stress and traumatic events. We use a special breath technique to activate our sympathetic nervous system, this allows the release of energetic charge which is stuck at the core of our body and is connected to our past traumas.

The Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System was created and founded by Giten Tonkov as a breathwork practice which works specifically with trauma resolution and the releasing of physical and emotional tension. BBTRS is built on a new revolutionary approach to body oriented therapy through the combining of 6 major elements- Meditation, specialised touch & bodywork, sound, breath, gentle emotional release and movement. This profound system is designed to break through the many layers of body armouring, thus releasing mental, emotional & physical tension to the core. Over the years, this modality has grown enormously and is now being shared in many countries worldwide.

Touch and bodywork is used to support the opening of tense muscular tissue, as well as to comfort and bring a feeling of safety during the session. Once our body is charged with bioenergy, we encourage the physical movement in the form of vibration and tremoring. This type of physical release discharges excess energy that has been trapped in our muscles. In our workshops we use conscious movement, we dance, we laugh, we cry, we connect from the heart.

Once the physical tension begins to unlock, emotions and feelings that have been suppressed and unacknowledged begin to rise to the surface. This expression creates an opportunity for deeper connection with our self and supports a life of emotional freedom and mastery.

BioDynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System® supports people to move from personality to individuality regaining innocence and freedom, living life with an open heart.

BBTRS enables you to feel the full range of sensations and emotions available to you. It can expand your capacity to contain and support the free flow of your energy. This work restructures at a cellular level, supporting the opening of your spine, and ultimately transforms you into being increasingly present and conscious in your life, opening up to an acceptance of yourself and others, celebrating life to the fullest.

BBTRS can reduce symptoms of:

Attention deficit disorder, apnea, anxiety, chronic fatigue, depression, difficulty focusing, obsessive compulsive disorder, physical /emotional pain, PTSD, stress, stress related medical illness, trauma, insomnia.

This is a residential workshop consisting of 2 half days and 4 full days. Hosted by The Mandala Retreat Center in Mandrem, Goa. A magical and tranquil center for healing, arts and transformation. In the duration of this workshop Natalie & Daniel will guide you through a beautiful and intensive journey of opening up the breath and body, and releasing specific belts of tension in the body through active meditations, sound, movement, group & partner exercises, conscious connected breathing and more. There will be laughter, play, tears, connection and lots of expansion.

This fully experiential retreat is designed to break through layers of body armouring; releasing mental, emotional & physical resistance and stress from your nervous system and cellular memory. As a result, you will intimately reconnect with your true essence and bring about a deeper connection to others, whilst creating internal space and a sense of vitality. This practice allows the stuck ‘fight or flight’ response to be completed in a safe and supported environment, this in turn brings about the unlocking of enormous amounts of energy which was previously used for contraction and holding.

We will be working with felt sense, somatic experiencing, titration, resonance & rapport to move into the deeper realms of trust and surrender. We will explore authentic expression through movement, play and voice. We will look at the interruption and the armouring formed around the heart, opening up to love and connection. We will give and receive support with a partner in our breathwork journeys.

This workshop is suitable for those who wish to deepen their understanding of body oriented therapy. It is also suitable for those interested in a full BBTRS training as an introduction to the work, or for those who wish to explore their own inner world, release long held tension and trauma from the physical and emotional body and enter into a deeper presence with themselves and others.

Natalie Keany • UK

11 years ago, Natalie began to travel the world, exploring alternative therapies and various healing modalities with the intention of self-healing. She had been struggling with depression, anxiety and addiction for many years due to old childhood traumas and the repression of emotions associated with this. During these years of self-exploration, she trained in Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, Kinesiology, Reiki, different forms of breathwork, & herbal medicine. In 2013 she was introduced to the Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System. This was the healing modality which allowed her to work with her own trauma, to fully release in a safe, supported environment, and to ‘come home’ to her body and essence. Life has never been the same since. The work had such a phenomenal and lasting effect on her that there was a natural and dedicated transition into learning and sharing this work with others.

Natalie went on to train with the BioDynamic Breath and Trauma Release Institute and continues to work with them on their worldwide trauma healing trainings. Natalie’s passion lies within the realm of releasing the old to make space to discover the infinite, unrealized potential which exists within each of us. She has a devotion to working with childhood trauma, addiction & depression, and sees herself as a living example of how this work can change lives. Her own personal journey of transformation has led her to believe that the breath in its very nature is like alchemy, it has the possibility to assist us in transmuting past trauma into precious and unique gifts.

She facilitates individual and group sessions, as well as being a part of the BBTR Institute’s support team. Natalie is mostly based between Europe, Australia and Asia where she works with individuals and small groups, as well as collaborating with other practitioners in lovingly designing workshops which provide a safe & fun space for participants to explore, expand, release & transform.
